Theme Update

We suggest you make a backup of your theme folder (wp-content/themes/theme_name) before updating the theme.

It’s important to note that customizations made through Theme Options and website content are stored in the database, so you won’t lose any changes when updating the theme. Changes will only be lost if you modify the theme’s code files.

Here are some best practices and essential notes:

  • Create a backup: It’s always a good practice to have a current backup of your website and database before performing updates. You can use plugins to automate the backup process or ask your host to perform a free backup for you.
  • Save Theme Options: You can go to Theme Options – System – Export Settings (Download Json) to save your current settings. Although the update shouldn’t affect these settings, it’s still recommended to keep a backup.
  • Clear cache: It’s recommended to clear your browser cache, server cache, or optimization plugins after the update to avoid any visual issues.

Manual Update
There are two ways you can manually update the theme.

From the WordPress admin

  • Download the latest version of the theme from your ThemeForest account.
  • Go to Appearance > Themes and upload theme_name.zip. Confirm the update.
  • Update any required plugins if prompted.

Using FTP

  • Remove the theme folder from wp-content/themes/ and then upload it again.
  • Go to your WordPress admin > Themes and verify if the theme version has been updated.

Note: After updating the theme make sure that you have updated the required plugins.
